Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman who is a businesswoman. She is currently the president and the controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is an California born and raised in a well-off family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty tycoon, before becoming the owner of the Lakers. Her feelings of abandonment were heightened after her parents split in 1972. As she turned 19 old she joined the family's business, serving as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. After that, she established the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She held the position of the president for Great Western Forum prior to being elected vice-president of the Lakers. Buss was the inheritor of Lakers ownership Lakers from her father in 2013. Five siblings of hers took over the franchise through an estate trust. she assumed the duties as the head of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-founder of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion headquartered in Los Angeles.
