Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived in a musical family on 9 August 1993 in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the daughter and cousin of the singer Dionne. As a child she performed in the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. When she reached the age of 15years old, Houston was singing professionally with backing vocals alongside her mother in Chaka Khan's song from 1978 Im Every Woman. In the following years, she was a backing vocals to Jermaine Jackson and Lou Rawls as well as her mom. The quality of her work as the lead vocalist in New York funk group Material was noticed by major record companies including Arista, with which she signed in 1982 and continued to work for the remainder of her career. The first Whitney Houston album was released in the year 1985. It would become one of the most successful albums of an artist. My Love was her debut album. My Love was released in 1985 and became a number one smash. In its first US year the album has sold in excess of 3 million units. After that, it was to be purchased by millions of people around the world, earning her her first Grammy. The Whitney sequel in 1987, featuring the singles How Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to further build upon the success of her first album. However, it was it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her status as one the world's most loved artists. Although her performance in the film and soundtrack was not popular however, her Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and the album accompanying it were top of the charts across the world for several months. That same year she married the former New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she was the sole parent of their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993. In 1996, her drug usage was well documented.
Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she works for CNN as an anchorwoman, reporter, as well as a political correspondent.
