April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star American, is among a select group of women who have had medals won in several Olympics. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian who will be joining the team in Tokyo. Ross is determined to earn more than her initial Olympic medal. In fact, at 39, it could be her last opportunity to achieve it. But she's convinced that the top awards are at hand. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they play their best, or even a good game, she believes the team can win a gold medal. This is also a matter of chance. Ross born the 22nd, 1982 located in Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. While at Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many activities. When she was a student in the prep school she played indoor volleyball along with basketball and track. Though she excelled in indoor volleyball but it was apparent that her abilities were higher than average. Based on her bio, she played an outside blocker as well as a middle volleyball player during her high-school career. Her achievements were rewarded in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Players of the Year. Additionally, in 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross is working with Klineman from 2017. However, Ross's beach game was well-established long before that. She has had the chance to win numerous events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. In the period 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Ross, Kessy's fellow teammate who won the world title with Kessy in 2009, also was an important player on the an international level. The duo won silver at London's Olympic Games. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team who won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, took them out to win the gold medal. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she retired. They went on to compete for the bronze beach volleyball trophy at Rio Olympics in 2016 along with Walsh Jennings. Ross was a player for the Trojans at USC during her the college years following her graduation from high school. She had a great run in college. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2000 as a young freshman. She also helped her Trojans to reach the Final Four. In her sophomore year, she suffered a tremendous personal setback, but she was able to repeat as an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons with the Trojans, she helped them achieve consecutive championships. The achievements of each individual have established her status as a legend in volleyball. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross had been an international studies student at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter make it to the top of beach volleyball. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001 when Ross was in the midst of being a USC sophomore. Her breast cancer had been diagnosed. However, she continues to hold her lost parent near and dear. Margie at the beach as well as in everyday life, continues to inspire her.
