Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter the city she grew up in after her birthplace. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father had a Jewish family. She has a younger brother Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. When Ryder was just seven years old, her family moved to Mendocino County California. The family was in a house that didn't have electric power. There was no television books was her only source of entertainment to pass the time. Eventually, she began to read extensively. Ryder began to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was 12. When she was 15years old, Ryder was offered her first acting job on the screen in Lucas. Ryder endured bullying while in highschool. Ryder was hopeful that her work as an actress could bring about change. Sadly that didn't happen. However, she kept working towards her goals. She got her break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder was a star in several films. In 1993 she received two nominations in the Academy Awards. One of was for her performance In The Age of Innocence.
